The Mama's Toffee Story

At the heart of Mama's Toffee is a story of family, love, and tradition. It all began years ago, when Mama Pitcher, filled with the spirit of the holidays, would make toffee in her kitchen to send to family members. The sweet, buttery toffee became a beloved tradition, something that people looked forward to each year.

Mama’s son, Jeremy, who was working in Southern California at the time, would take some of this toffee to work to share with his colleagues. The response was overwhelming- people couldn’t get enough! Friends, coworkers, and neighbors alike started requesting more, asking for toffee to gift to loved ones or enjoy themselves. The demand grew so much that Mama Pitcher decided to turn her cherished holiday treat into something more, and so Mama’s Toffee was born.

But the story didn’t stop there. When COVID hit, Mama Pitcher, like so many others, had to make the hard decision to hang up her apron. That’s when Jeremy stepped in, taking over the family business. After long days at work, he would head to a friend’s restaurant kitchen late at night, alone with his music, making each batch of toffee by hand. He sold it online and at farmer’s markets in Southern California, sharing his family’s legacy one bite at a time.

During this time, something unexpected happened. Jeremy reconnected with his childhood friend, Jennifer, who lived six hours away in Newcastle. Their late-night phone calls during his toffee-making sessions became the foundation for something even sweeter—the rekindling of their relationship. Hours upon hours of conversation brought them closer together, and not long after, they were married.

Now, Jeremy and Jennifer have brought Mama’s Toffee back to Northern California, where they continue the tradition, sharing this special family recipe with their hometown community. Every batch is made with the same love and care that Mama Pitcher put into it, and each piece tells a story of resilience, love, and the sweetness of life’s little moments.

We invite you to be a part of our family’s journey and enjoy a piece of our history. Every bite of Mama’s Toffee is more than just a treat—it’s a story, a tradition, and a celebration of the connections that bring us all together.
